SMOKED is a beautiful vegetable tanned leather with a striking pull-up effect.
It’s a smooth, milled and matt leather characterised by a pull up effect on the surface as a result of the final step of the tanning process, application with hot waxes.
This leather is fully dyed through with no finish applied, other then the wax applied. You can see every detail of the skin which provides a beautiful vintage effect.
Burnishing with a dry cloth will brighten the surface as well as darken the color. The patina these skins develope is one of it's kind. The rugged effect looks amazing on for example bags, duffles, etc.
Smoked can be used for any kind of leather goods such as portofolios, wallets, folders, belts, watch straps, shoes, bags, etc.
We will offer this leather in two thicknesses 1.4/1.6 MM and 2.2/2.4 MM - please reach out to us if you require a custom thickness !
